Alzheimer’s Impact on Women

Women's brains matter. They are leaders and influencers in family, community, business and philanthropy. They are also disproportionately affected by Alzheimer's disease.

Women account for almost two-thirds of Americans with the disease, and 65 percent of caregivers of people with Alzheimer's are women. In the United States alone, nearly 13 million women are either living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease. This devastating disease places an unbalanced burden on women at work and at home, forcing them to make unwanted choices about their careers, relationships and other life decisions.
